Importance: Low
Error «Max Internal Links» Description
Indicates pages with more than 100 outgoing internal links (by default). Note that you can change the default value on the 'Restrictions' tab of crawling settings.
The Importance of the Problem
Internal linking is the most efficient method to show search engines a relative importance of website pages (link weight).
If a page has too many outgoing links, it transfers link weight to important pages less effectively. As a result, useful pages may get less link weight, lower rankings, and therefore less traffic.
At the same time, there are no restrictions on the number of links on a page. In some cases (for pages at the top of the website structure and for so-called hub pages) a big number of links is justified. For example, some Wikipedia pages have more than 500 of them.
Take into account that when a page has too many links, a user will find it more difficult to perceive the main content of the page.
How to Fix Error
Make sure that a large number of links on the certain website pages is justified.
