Error «Max External Links» Description

Indicates compliant pages containing more than 10 external outgoing links (by default). We have set 10 as the average number of external links on the majority of websites: approximately 5 links to social media and a couple of external links to other sites. Note that you can change the default value on the 'Restrictions' tab of crawling settings.

The Importance of the Problem

A lot of spammy links often appear in a comment section of a page: they are left by SEOs to manipulate search algorithms. Also, many external links may appear after the site was hacked: this way trespassers redirect users to their web resource.

That's why it's better to regularly check the site for unnecessary links, which is easy to do with this report.

How to Fix Error

Make sure all external outgoing links are useful for users and are not spammy.
