Error «Broken Images» Description
Indicates unavailable images (e.g. due to a connection failure or a timeout), as well as the ones returning 4xx and higher HTTP status codes. Note that image checking must be enabled on the 'General' tab of crawling settings to detect this issue.
The Importance of the Problem
Broken images might occur when image files are deleted or unavailable (e.g. an image URL returns the 5xx status code or other server errors).
These images are not displayed on a page, and users see blank spaces instead, so they might consider the site low-quality and leave it. Also, it's a negative website quality signal for search engines which can result in lower rankings and traffic loss.
How to Fix Error
Replace broken images with available ones or delete them from the source code. To detect pages with broken images, press the 'Issue report' button over the main table.
Also, images can be unavailable due to a high load on a website during crawling. In this case, reduce the load (decrease the number of threads and set a delay between requests in crawling settings), finish the crawling, and recrawl all unavailable URLs (select them in the table and press the Ctrl+R shortcut).
